How are all you golfers doing out there? My name is Aaron Simons, I am a senior at Central Conneticut State University. I am 20 years old and have been golfing for about eight years now. I played four years varsity at Enrico Fermi High school and two years at Springfield College. By know means am I the best golfer; I’m still learning how to play the game, but its exciting to know my game is getting better.
Welcome to “Green In Regulation”-a blog that is dedicated to any golfer from the veteran to the rookie and everyone in between. This blog is here for everybody, and anybody that is interested in golf in CT. I from the Hartford area, and since I’ve started golfing my freshman year in high school, I’ve always been on the hunt to find new courses to play in CT. I used to be stuck playing the same three to four courses everytime I wanted to play. As I got older and learned more about the game and got my drivers liscense I’ve been able to travel more and play new courses. That’s what this blog is going to be dedicated to. I am going to be discussing what courses we have here in CT. The layout of these courses, green fee’s, interviews from the pro’s and grounds keepers at these courses.
I will also be going into detail about what courses are worth playing and how much it costs. Golf is an exspensive sport and when your in high school and college money is tight, so I will give adivce on the places to play for cheap but good quality.
Blog discussions that I will be having will be:
-Course layouts and fees
-Interviews with grounds keepers on how a golf course in up kept and run.
-How to keep your skills sharp over the winter months.
-Courses every golfer needs to play in their lifetime.
-Possible interviews with people from courses like Augusta National, Pebble Beach (hopefully), and many more.
-How to hit certain shots and how to get yourself out of trouble on the course and save strokes.
-Updates from the PGA and their charities.
Golf is a fun sport, and this blog will be dedicated to all golfers. There will be photos and scorecards attached to the blogs. I’m excited to be able to have the oppurtunity to do this blog and hopefully the information I provide will be helpful to all.
